Q: Where is up!FEST
A: Wabamun Lake’s Waterfront Park (NOT the Provincial park):
5119 50 St, Wabamun, AB T0E 2K0. It’s a 45-minute drive West of Edmonton on the Yellowhead (HWY 16).
Q: Is there any way to get to the event besides driving myself?
A: Yes! We have teamed up with Southland Transportation this year – book a $16 round-trip and arrive stress-free! All the details are at up993.com. (You are also welcome to cab or uber out to the lake).
Q: I booked with bus.com, do I need to bring my tickets?
A: Yes. Hard copy tickets, tickets on your phone, or your ID will all be accepted both going out to the event and upon returning in the evening.
Q: I booked with bus.com, can I bring my chair and cooler on the bus?
A: You may bring 1 lawn chair per person. Lap coolers only, as there is no extra storage on the bus.
Q: How much are tickets to the event?
A: This is a FREE event! It is first come, first serve. Bring a lawn chair and sunscreen!
Q: I won VIP – when will I get details about this?
A: Our Promotions Director will be reaching out the week of June 18th with all the details about your VIP package!
Q: Is anything else happening besides the concert?
A: Yes! Complimentary boat rides will be offered by our friends at Barry Jay’s & Rainbow Marine from 1:00pm – 4:00pm! Bring your ID.
Q: Is this a charitable event?
A: Yes! The Christmas Bureau will be doing a 50/50 onsite that day.
Q: Will food be available?
A: Yes! We will have a dozen food trucks available on site – bring cash. You are also welcome to bring a cooler with food and snacks. We also encourage folks to bring a re-fillable water bottle to stay hydrated in the hot summer sun!
Q: Can I bring my own drinks?
A: Yes, if they are non-alcoholic. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Should you want alcohol you can purchase and drink it in our beer gardens only (open from 1:00pm – 8:30pm). Please bring cash and your ID. Please don’t drink and drive.
Q: What time do the grounds open?
A: Guests are welcome to join us from 12pm onward. The event officially kicks off at 1:00pm.
Q: Where should I park?
A: There is no specific lot or location, we just ask that you be respectful of the personal property and businesses around the Village of Wabamun when parking your vehicle. Please use caution when crossing the tracks to the festival site, as trains are active on the tracks regularly.
Q: What is the bathroom situation?
A: There are ample unisex bathrooms on all four corners of the grounds. You may want to bring extra hand sanitizer.
Q: What about garbage and recycling?
A: We encourage all patrons to use the provided cans around the site and be respectful of the Village of Wabamun. We will also be doing site sweeps and collecting your empties and trash throughout the day.
Q: What should I pack?
A: Sunscreen, water bottle (beverages available for purchase), sunglasses, a hat, a lawn chair, snacks (food available for purchase), your ID, cash, beach wear and raincoat (in case), comfortable shoes.
Q: What about event photos?
A: We’ve got a great volunteer photographer coming to the event this year! All images will be made available on our Facebook page in the weeks following the event.
Q: Anything else happening where I can have my face and voice featured?
A: Yes! We will be running our social media throughout the day, keep and eye out for our team! Our Digital Production Assistant will also be around, collecting audio and video reactions from you during the day!
Q: Can I bring my children?
A: Yes! They are more than welcome to enjoy the spray park, sand park and sweet tunes of our band! Please note there is no lifeguard on duty.
Q: Can I bring my dog(s)?
A: Unfortunately, no. For the safety of your pet and other patrons dogs will not be allowed. Please note: Service animals will be permitted. Please keep them hydrated!
Q: Is the beach open during the event?
A: Yes! There are no lifeguards on duty, but you are more than welcome to bring a floaty and enjoy the water! (Wabamun also has changeroom facilities)
Q: What happens if the weather turns?
A: This is Alberta, please pack for all weather conditions. The show will go on in minor rain, but should the weather worsen or turn to the point of being unsafe, we will shut down the event.
Q: Is there first-aid on site?
A: Yes. We will have ambulance, fire and police on-site to support any emergency. We will also have security on site to ensure a fun, safe and smooth event!
Q: I have an issue to report – where do I go?
A: Feel free to bring issues or problems forward to any of our up! 99.3 staff. We will be wearing our highlighter yellow t-shirts and will be throughout the site.
Q: What time do the bands play?
A: Radio Tragedy will take the stage at 3:00pm, followed by 5 on the Side at 5:00pm, and Loverboy will wrap up the day by taking the stage at 7:00pm!
Q: Can we meet the bands?
A: If you’ve won a VIP package, you are automatically entered for a chance to Meet and Greet the bands.
Q: Can we meet the hosts?
A: Of course! They will be mingling around the site and would be happy to chat and take a photo with our up! Listeners! Don’t be shy – just say hello!
Q: Will there be merchandise to purchase?
A: Yes, Loverboy will have a spot left of the stage where you can purchase branded merch.
Q: When is the event over?
A: Beer gardens and Loverboy will be over at 8:30pm. Busses will arrive for transport at 9:00pm.
